Free motorways at Easter
Traffic during the Easter holidays is expected to be limited to the bare essentials.
Easter is one of the top travel times in Germany besides the summer school holidays. Strictly speaking, Easter is in first place in the travel table, since school holidays in Germany are not uniformly scheduled in one and the same period for all federal states.
Therefore, during the Easter holidays, the roads are mainly handed over to the trucks, which together with the train-cargo traffic mainly supply us with goods, even in times of Corona pandemic.
Chancellor Merkel recommends, however, that we continue to observe the ban on contact during the holidays, except for further commitments from government circles.
