Paris: Today free parking against air pollution!

The City of Paris has announced free parking for residents on Thursday 15 June due to air pollution. AIRPARIF predicts that the ozone information threshold (O3) will be exceeded on that day.

In accordance with regulations issued by the Paris Executive in times of high air pollution, the city has decided to provide free parking to residents to alleviate the situation. The prefect of police also recommends that residents work from home, use public transport when possible and carpool.
Adjustment of maximum speed on various roads is envisaged as follows:
- Reduction to 110 km/h on motorway sections normally restricted to 130 km/h;
- to 90 km/h on motorway sections and motorways where 110 km/h is normally permitted;
- finally, a reduction to 70 km/h on sections of motorways and motorways normally restricted to 90 km/h, as well as on national and departmental roads restricted to 80 km/h or 90 km/h.

This initiative is part of the city's efforts to combat air pollution and improve the overall air quality for its citizens.
