Hamburg's boulevard soon to be car-free

There you go! Hamburg has decided to exclude cars and trucks from the famous Jungfernstieg.

That's great news: Hamburg's Jungfernstieg on the Alster in the city centre will be car-free. A motion to that effect was passed by the Greens and SPD on Monday. For the time being, however, the coalition partners did not name a concrete timetable as to when motorized individual traffic is to disappear from the said quarter.

Representatives of the coalition want to focus more on similar aspects of urban development in the coming legislative period, representatives of the coalition told the Hamburger Morgenpost.
