Environmental zone of Budapest Dél–Pest 1 – Hungary

The environmental zone of Budapest Dél–Pest 1 is a permanent area of the city on the left of the Danube and located in the southern part of the city.
Budapest is the capital of Hungary and at the same time the largest city of the country. With over 1.8 million inhabitants and an area of 525.13 km², Budapest is the tenth largest city in the European Union.

The main attractions of Budapest are located on the banks of the Danube. For example, the famous Gellért Hotel with thermal baths, the main university building, the Royal Palace on the castle hill or the rocky Gellért Hill with the Liberty Statue and the Citadel.

Administratively, Budapest is divided into 23 districts and 17 environmental zones. 15 of the 17 environmental zones each cover part of the urban area; two environmental zones cover the entire urban area. These are the zones of Budapest City (winter) and Budapest (temporary).

The environmental zone of Budapest Dél–Pest 1 is one of 15 permanently established zones of the city, whose rules essentially require a weight and an emission limit (EURO emission standard) of the vehicles.

The zone Dél–Pest 1 is bordered by the road to Ferihegyi airport, Üllői út, Könyves Kálmán körút, Mester utca, Máriássy utca, Soroksári út, Vágóhíd utca, Lechner Ödön fasor, Boráros tér, the Danube river, Soroksári, the branch of the Danube and the city border.
The internal zone Dél-Pest 2, the M0 motorway, the M5 motorway section (between Nagykőrösi út and the city border), the main road Gyáli út (the section between Határ út and Könyves Kálmán körút) and the road Nagykőrös út (the section between Határ út and Großmarkttor) are not affected by the rules of the zone Del-Pest 1.

In large parts of the environmental zone, the rules do not apply to the local inhabitants. They are not affected by the access rules.
