Environmental zone Rotterdam Maasvlakte - The Netherlands
The environmental zone of Rotterdam Maasvlakte (port)
Rotterdam is the largest seaport in Europe and the third largest in the world. It is an important transport hub for freight traffic. The port makes Rotterdam the leading industrial and commercial city in the Netherlands. The Maasvlakte is located about 40 km west of Rotterdam city centre and has seven harbour basins.
The environmental zone entered into force on 01.10.2014. The zone concerns all postal codes within the 3199 zone, except for 3199 LE and 3199 LN. In addition, port numbers from 7200 to 9900 are concerned.
Further information can be obtained by clicking on the map on the left. Please refer to the table below to find out which driving restrictions apply to which types of vehicle at which times of the day and week in the environmental zone or use or Green-Zones app.
The REG-Certificate for Dutch Environmental Zones
In the Rotterdam Maasvlakte (port of Rotterdam) environmental zone, registration for trucks (N2, N3) is mandatory.
If the truck is a vehicle with EURO 6 standard, it may enter after registration. For trucks with EURO 0-5 standards, entry is also possible after registration, provided they are not older than 7 years and were registered before 2013.
Vehicles with EURO 0-5 standards that do not meet the above conditions, can apply for an exemption for a maximum of 12 days per year for which there is no guarantee of approval.
Entry without registration and/or without exemption will result in heavy fines.
Green-Zones offers its registration service for the Rotterdam Maasvlakte environmental zone and issues a Green-Zones REG-Certificate for the vehicle to be registered. The registration certificate (REG-Certificate) for European environmental zones developed by Green-Zones confirms to the buyer that Green-Zones has registered his vehicle for an environmental zone in the Czech Republic as required by law. The registration certificate is not an official badge/vignette.
An application for registration will be provided here (until 10-2019).
