Environmental zone Umeå - Sweden
Umeå is a city of the Swedish province of Västerbottens län and historical province of Västerbottens. The city on the River Ume älv is the largest in Norrland, the northernmost part of Sweden, with a population of about 115,000 on an area of 34 km². It is called the “City of Birches” because there are thousands of birch trees along its streets.
The environmental zone of Umeå is in force since 01.04.2014. The area is bordered in the west by Tvärån, in the south by Umeälven, in the east by Östermalmsleden and Rothoffsvägen, and in the north by Sandaparken, the old E4 and E12. The above mentioned streets are not included in the zone.
