The environmental zone of Stockholm
Stockholm is the capital of Sweden and with a population of 2.2 million the largest city in Scandinavia. The city is the seat of the Swedish parliament and the Swedish government. Stockholm comprises 14 islands of a large archipelago in the Baltic Sea.
The municipality of Stockholm is divided into 14 boroughs and the inner city into 21 districts.
The environmental zone is already in force since 18.06.1995. It covers the entire city centre and includes the following areas: Södermalm, Kungsholmen, Vasastaden, Norrmalm, Östermalm, Ladugarsgärdet.
