Environmental zone of Budapest Észak–Buda 1 – Hungary
[Bitte in "Englisch" übersetzen:] Die Umweltzone Budapest Észak–Buda 1
The environmental zone of Budapest Észak–Buda 1 is a permanent area of the city on the right of the Danube and located in the northern part of the city.
Budapest is the capital of Hungary and at the same time the largest city of the country. With over 1.8 million inhabitants and an area of 525.13 km², Budapest is the tenth largest city in the European Union.
From 1987, an area on the Danube banks of Buda and Pest, between the Freedom Bridge and the Margaret Bridge, was declared a World Heritage Site. Other sites are some buildings of the Technical University, the area around the Chain Bridge, the Gellért Baths, the Gellért Hill with the Freedom Monument and the Citadel, the Castle on the Buda Hill with the Royal Palace, the Baroque churches of the water city and the Turkish Baths.
Administratively, Budapest is divided into 23 districts and 17 environmental zones. 15 of the 17 environmental zones each cover part of the urban area; two environmental zones cover the entire urban area. These are the zones of Budapest City (winter) and Budapest (temporary).
The environmental zone of Budapest Észak–Buda 1 is one of 15 permanently established zones of the city, whose rules essentially require a weight and an emission limit (EURO emission standard) of the vehicles.
Further information can be obtained by clicking on the map on the left. Please refer to the table below to find out which driving restrictions apply to which types of vehicle at which times of the day and week in the environmental zone or use or Green-Zones app.
