The historical centre of Prague is a Unesco World Heritage Site. The city of Prague is also known as the “Golden City” and has a Gothic and Baroque urban landscape.
Prague 2 is an administrative district of the Czech capital. The district is located on the right bank of the River Vltava in the city centre. Prague 2 consists of Vyšehrad, parts of the New Town and Vyšehrad, as well as a small part of Nusle. The district covers an area of about 250 hectares with a population of about 50,000.
The environmental zone entered into force on 01.05.2006. It covers almost the entire area of Prague 1 and Prague 2. The zone extends between the streets of Vodičkova, Lazarská, Myslíkova, Masarykovo nábřeží, Resslova and Karlovo náměstí.
Further information can be obtained by clicking on the map on the left. Please refer to the table below to find out which driving restrictions apply to which types of vehicle at which times of the day and week in the environmental zone or use or Green-Zones app.
The REG-Certificate for Czech environmental zones
In the Prague (Prague 2) environmental zone there is a driving ban for trucks (N2, N3) from 6 tons with EURO 0-3 standards. Vehicles with EURO 4-6 standards may enter the zone, but must register with the City of Prague in advance. Entry without prior registration will result in heavy fines. Different rules apply to buses. See below.
Green-Zones offers its registration service (for trucks) for the Prague 2 environmental zone and issues a Green-Zones REG-Certificate for the vehicle to be registered. The registration certificate (REG-Certificate) for European environmental zones developed by Green-Zones confirms to the buyer that Green-Zones has registered his vehicle for an environmental zone in the Czech Republic as required by law. The registration certificate is not an official badge/vignette.
