Tesla closes charging stations

As is well known, the lack of charging infrastructure is the biggest obstacle for many e-car drivers. Of course, this is also related to the crowding around the available charging stations. Tesla has now found a solution.

Charging spots are often blocked by internal combustion vehicles that don't care about leaving the spots free for charging. Tesla now offers secured spaces on its parking lots in China that are blocked by a bar. Tesla builds this charging point barrier as standard with every new Supercharger station there. The bar can then be folded down using the Tesla app.

Tesla drivers welcome these new options, because all too often the charging stations are used by non-company e-cars, which sometimes even take up two parking spaces due to the location of their model's charging socket. Not to mention that unsecured parking spaces are often also used as parking spaces, which is of course not surprising due to the elimination of many normal parking spaces.

But Tesla is now putting an end to this thanks to secured spaces. Drivers can then use the Tesla app to enter the charging station number so that the locking bar is lowered. To shorten the queues and avoid unnecessary crowding, it is even possible to make a reservation via the app. This could prove to be a profitable source of income for Tesla. Because many are willing to pay a fee if only they can finally charge their car reliably in order to use it. After all, what good is a car that is allowed to enter every low-emission zone but never has enough juice to actually do so?
