Tyrolean transit ban: Austria soon in court?
Since the beginning of 2020, many trucks are no longer allowed to drive through Tyrol in Austria, even though they comply with the latest Euro standard. However, vehicles travelling to and from Tyrol are not affected by the ban. This is unequal treatment, for which Italy now wants to take legal action.

Germany: Green reform of the commuter subsidy?
The Green parliamentary group proposes an eco-social reform of the commuter allowance - with the aim of having transport emissions and government spending reduced at the same time. This Tuesday, 07 March 2023, was supposed to be the day: The EU wanted to put an end to the combustion engine once and for all. But the signing of its decision has to be postponed. Some EU states do not want to participate. Fearing that the vote would be negative, the decision was postponed for the time being.
Combustion engine phase-out: EU Parliament gives green light
As expected, the European Union Parliament approved the upcoming regulation for new cars on 14 February 2023. From 2035, new registered private cars and light commercial vehicles will be emission-free as part of the Union's transport and climate policy. However, not everything has been decided yet.
