New ways in Berlin

The Berlin Senate Department for the Environment, Transport & Climate Protection has launched cycling facilities at breakneck speed.

These measures in times of the coronavirus include, among other things, a widened parking area on Zossener Straße in front of Gitschiener Straße and a separate cycle path along Halleschen Ufer from Hallesches Tor to Köthener Straße in the city centre.

But this special arrangement is also gaining ground internationally and more and more motor vehicle lanes are being opened up to bicycle traffic: New York, Vienna, London and Bogota, to name but a few. The latter city in South America is even considered the pioneer of this special model.
