Limburg - Diesel driving bans despite Corona?
On September 14., the Administrative Court in Kassel wants to decide whether diesel vehicles with Euro 4 and Euro 5 must stay away from the city.
Once again, the German Environmental Aid (DUH) complained against the state of Hesse. The measuring points in the city have been disturbing high levels of the respiratory venom for years. In 2015, 62,7 micrograms were measured in the annual average. In the years after that, concentration dropped to at least 54 micrograms. Nevertheless, the values are still far above the allowed 40 micrograms. Consequently, there can only be diesel driving bans. Wonder if the judges of the 9. th Senate of the Administrative Court see it that way?
According to Mayor Dr. Marius Hahn (SPD) has already been done a lot to improve air quality, such as the expansion of the bus offer or common public transport fares with other transport associations and promotion of e-cargo wheels.
It is not only we doubt that these measures are sufficient. From internal circles you can hear that the judges are now quite impatient and after almost 5 years with little improvement, it's time to let actions follow.
