Corona saving lives

According to a new study, the shutdown in Europe, which has been going on for weeks, has led to around 11,000 fewer deaths from the effects of air pollution.

The latest study by the Centre for Research on Energy and Clean Air in England estimates that, with 220,000 deaths worldwide in the current calendar year 2020 caused by air containing pollutants, several thousand premature deaths in Europe due to corona-related effects such as exit restrictions have already been prevented.
Air pollution is responsible for almost 500,000 deaths annually, the British study continues.
