New low emission zone rules in July 2023

They deal with increasing criticism and sometimes they are even abolished, but low emission zones ultimately remain one of the green transport measures that politicians keep resorting to - to reduce emissions from road traffic, improve the quality of air and life for citizens and protect the environment as part of climate targets. This month, France, Denmark and Germany are also backing low-emission zones and driving bans. Green-Zones® lists the new rules for July.

Copenhagen plans ban on combustion engines from 2030

Following the announcement of tighter environmental zone regulations from next autumn for all diesel vehicles, Denmark is unveiling its plans to say goodbye to internal combustion engines. The possibility of a ban on combustion engines from 2030, including the state of the infrastructure and the social compatibility of the measure, is currently being examined in detail. Will Copenhagen's low-emission zone become a zero-emission zone?

Low emission zones in Denmark: Now cars also affected!

From 01.10.2023, diesel cars will also be subject to the environmental zone regulations in Copenhagen, Aalborg, Aarhus and Odense. All Euro 5 or Euro 4 vehicles with particulate filters - registered before January 2011 - will then need to be registered in order to drive legally in a Danish low emission zone. Low emission zones and emission standards: A look ahead to 2023

The new year is coming, and with it many innovations for low emission zones and the regulations that govern the corresponding entry for vehicles. A new EU emission standard is also on its way to set the emission standards of all new registrations in the future. Will 2023 be a good year for less pollutants in traffic? Or will the new rules have no real positive impact on the environmental situation?

New environmental zones and driving bans in July 2022

Every month, new environmental zones are introduced or tightened by further driving bans. Initiatives for car-free Sundays are also gaining ground. Always with the intention of keeping negative traffic impacts on the environment and on citizens' quality of life under control. This month Green-Zones® summarises the latest developments from Denmark, Sweden and France.

New rules for low emission zones in January 2022

The new year is barely a few days old, but already there are important changes in the environmental zones in many European cities. Often the changes only affect individual cities, but sometimes they affect entire countries. But some tightening has been postponed, on the one hand because pollutants have decreased due to the pandemic-related decrease in traffic, and on the other hand because drivers want to be given enough time to adjust to innovations in difficult times. Green-Zones® lists the new rules for January.
